OSP Ventures India Private Limited is a propulsion design, engineering and licensing company, registered in Goa.

What the company holds

The company is not a manufacturer. It licenses original equipment manufacturers to build engines through an Indian supply chain.

The engine is engineered here, qualified here and made here, through an Indian supply chain. That is where the substance of a domestic propulsion capability actually lives.

  • Dev Sathya

    Co-Founder and Managing Director

    First-generation entrepreneur, inventor and investor across consumer electronics, office automation, telecommunications, software and sustainability. Leads the India build, supply chain and commercial structure.

  • Jean-Pierre Pirault

    Co-Founder and Head of Engineering

    Powertrain engineer of more than four decades. Chief Engineer at Jaguar Cars; senior management at Ford Europe Powertrain Research; earlier research at Ricardo and Vandervell. Author of the standard SAE International reference text on opposed-piston engines, and named inventor on the foundational OSP patents.

  • Trevor Norris

    Co-Founder

    Chartered Accountant. Began at KPMG advising public companies; Finance Director and then Chief Executive of Arden Partners through to IPO.

Advisory council

The advisory council is an advisory appointment to a private company. Its members are not officers, employees or managers of the company, hold no executive role and do not direct its work.

  • Air Chief Marshal R.K.S. Bhadauria PVSM AVSM VM (Retd)

    Advisor, non-executive

    Former Chief of the Air Staff, Indian Air Force. Advises the company on air domain requirements and unmanned platform propulsion.

Intellectual property

The architecture is protected by a granted patent family with a common priority date of 5 April 2013. All of it is on the public record.

Corporate structure

The background patent family is owned by OSP Engines Limited, United Kingdom. OSP Ventures India holds the exclusive licence to exploit that family in India and a defined export territory. Original equipment manufacturers build engines under sub-licence and carry manufacturing, sale and warranty.

The relationship with OSP Engines Limited is a licence for consideration. It is not a joint venture, and the company is neither a subsidiary nor a holding company of any other entity.
